Michael DeMoya

Michael DeMoya founded Daytime Cinema on a simple conviction: the best seat in the house is the one nobody's fighting you for. A weekday 2pm screening, a near-empty theater, and a film you actually chose.

He's been going to New York Comic Con since 2008 — all four days, every year — and sees around 40 films a year, most of them in a theater. His taste refuses to specialize: comic-book movies, sci-fi, horror, thrillers, dramas, indies. He'll sit through something at 12% on Rotten Tomatoes and something at 100% in the same week, and make the case for both.

Before this, he spent a decade building brands and communities as a director of social and content marketing, most recently leading social at Breakout through its acquisition and rebrand under Kraken.

He writes from Hollyhood, New Jersey.
